"You have taught me to believe in myself and to take things slowly, one step at a time, keep sight of my goals, both short term and long term.

Your coaching style was both nuturing and motivating, you seemed to intuitively know some days what I needed most. Your caring and understanding was so appreciated and it came from the heart."

-Holly C.

I would recommend the Simplicity Course as an easy, practical way to start simplifying one's life. I especially liked the segments on Tolerations, Wardrobe, and Office and Paperwork.

Each day focuses on only one task, which is helpful to people who feel overwhelmed by the complexities of modern life and hardly know where to begin downshifting.

-Joan, New York

Beth has an uncanny way of, "reading between the lines" to see a person's heart. I appreciate how genuine she is.

I have already begun implementing her suggestions, and am dumbstruck at how well they are working. I am feeling so much more secure, and feel I am finally put onto a life path that will bring me joy for many years to come."

-Sue Halpern

I feel more focused and have an objective instead of aimlessly filling up the day.

-Do not wish to be anything but what you are and try to be that perfectly. –St. Francis De Sales

Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world. –Joel Barkor

I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas season.

For the past few years I have taken a little day retreat while the kids and husband are out, to dream and plan the year. During this session I discover what I want my theme of the year to be. Every year brings different topics to light. One year my theme was Health and I had a 52-week plan to get healthy, losing 15 pounds in the process. Another year I focused on Organization and revamped my house. Other year’s are virtues like Grace, Creativity and Joy and most of my plans throughout the year flowed through that year’s trait. During the year I track how I am doing in my theme. I read books on the theme and research.  I plan ways to take action on my theme. This year my theme of the year is self-care. What is yours?

Take Action:

Take time this weekend to discover what you want this year to be about.

  1. What is frustrating you?
  2. What do you long for?
  3. What character trait do you want to improve?
  4. When you are quiet, what word keeps popping into your mind?

My theme of the year is __________________________________________________________

This year I have just started a Life Makeover Group. We will be going through the weekly lessons in Cheryl Richardson’s book Life Makeovers. We begin Jan. 6th. Self-Care Tips for January:

·         List 10 things you want from this coming year

Little things console us because little things affect us.

- Blaise Pascal

Relationship Ideas for January:

·         Watch morning cartoons with your kids

·         Thank your partner for things he/she does

·         Write your thank you notes

·         Call a friend to get together for breakfast

Sometimes you have to be silent in order to be heard.

I encourage you this month to dream, to create a nurturing environment for yourself and to listen to the people around you.
