Tiny Change # 51: Use music to
energize you or relax you
What's
your favorite music? When was the last time you played it?
Music is often an underused resource for mood and energy management.
Most of us know how energetic a peppy song gets us. But, how
often in an energy lag do you pop in a CD or turn on the radio?
What about a soothing song? When was the last time you used a
song to ease your stress or comfort you?
I love putting on, "Walkin' on Sunshine" by Katrina
and the Waves to start my morning cleaning routine off right.
Pat Benetar, Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow and the Rain Man soundtrack
can perk me back up when I have my late afternoon energy lag.
At night Enya or a nature CD can soothe me so I am ready for bed.
Some days it is classical music that touches my soul. I love to
sing hymns or praise songs in my quiet time. Praise songs also
help when I'm feeling down. What is your favorite music for gaining
energy? What music soothes you?
For my birthday, one of my gifts was a pair of headphones so
I could listen to my music when my 3rd shift husband was sleeping.
I listen to music often when I am working on the computer now.
You can also gain stress relief by playing music. Did you used
to play an instrument or sing? Can you take up the hobby again?
I can get out lots of aggression by playing, "The Wild Horseman"
on the piano.
This week, take a look at how music affects you.
